At Paylume, we are excited to share an important step in our growth as we expand our developer team. With four developers officially joining, and more positions in the pipeline, we have grown by almost four times what we were last year.
Paylume’s latest expansion reflects a simple reality in today’s market: our clients are undergoing major change programmes and need support from strategy through to implementation. We are pleased to be building a capability that will mean we can deliver an end-to-end payments transformation for our clients.
These initiatives often involve intricate payment flows and multiple system interactions, where even minor failures can disrupt entire chains, trigger delays, or result in customer complaints.
By incorporating developers into our offering, we can support clients across every stage of delivery and ensure outcomes that are both high‑quality and on time.
“At Paylume, we believe that excellence in payments transformation for our clients is not optional – it’s essential. Our Development Centre of Excellence brings together the best development talent and deep payments knowledge, giving our clients a powerful end-to-end payments delivery service as they navigate accelerating regulatory and innovation-driven change,” Frederic Barbaix, Head of Digital Transformation at Paylume
Digital transformation in payments is inherently complex
Core payment systems connect to a wide range of components. These include operational risk, compliance, authentication, core banking, fraud monitoring, reconciliation, and anti-money laundering reporting. These systems are tightly interconnected, and even small adjustments can create broad technical consequences, making specialist developers an essential consideration for navigating this landscape safely and reliably.
There is also no margin for error in payments. Any failure has an immediate customer impact and creates reputational risk. Deep technical expertise is critical to preventing outages and defects, and by bringing developers into our team, Paylume can provide the precision that is necessary to build resilient processes, so that there is both regulatory compliance, and a successful, user-friendly end‑to‑end payments journey.
What our developers will work on
While some projects are yet to begin, we can already share examples of the work our expanded teams will undertake. We will be able to provide a full team, including analysts, developers, and quality assurance. This will help financial institutions migrate from one payments platform to another.
Our developers will also be able to support the integration of vendor systems into a client’s wider ecosystem.
This will include working across several key payment schemes such as SEPA Direct Debit, SEPA Instant, NPP, high-value & cross-border payments and Request to Pay.
This is essential infrastructure for institutions that are operating in modern payments environments.
Looking ahead
This expansion marks an exciting moment for Paylume.
By boosting our developer capability, we are deepening our ability to support clients not just with insight, but with hands‑on delivery, helping them navigate the complexities of the modern payments’ ecosystem with confidence.
